An Examination of the Narconon Program
Narconon Exposed
We have had family members ask us "What do people say about Narconon?" to find out their reputation. That is a good question, but the important factor is that it of course depends on who you ask.Critics of the program are usually one of the following: A drug-addicted individual who left the program and continued to use drugs, a traditional mental health advocate who promotes the use of mind-altering and addictive drugs on people, a person who is a religious biggot and has a misunderstood problem with L Ron Hubbard, or someone who has never taken the time to go and visit a Narconon center and speak with staff members and students and see all there is to the program.
The first two examples are easily understood. Someone has a direct opposition if they either want to keep taking drugs or want to keep prescribing drugs to other people to make money.
The second example is pretty sad, because these are normally very devout Christians who do exatcly opposite of what the Bible says and don't even live up to our Golden Rule - "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." Hypocrites. It is actually embarrassing to the rest of the Christian population to promote hatred intolerance - especially without understanding.
The last example is really where most people should fall in to place. If someone has questions about the program, the real way to expose Narconon isn't to believe what websites say. In order to really get your own personal Narconon exposed experience, take the time to visit a center, especially the largest one in Oklahoma.
Do you want to believe what a few people have written online? Well, go compare that to what the 200 addicts being rehabilitated are going through and attend a graduation ceremony. Go aks questions of staff members and find out how many thousands of people they have helped get off drugs over the years. Go ask local, state and federal elected officials who have toured the facility and know its good works. Go ask Christian ministers who open their doors to Narconon staff and students for Sunday services and especially those who have held Easter Sunrise Service at Narconon. Go ask the kids at schools who their favorite drug education speakers are and what they've learned. Go ask a mother who now has her daughter back because Narconon helped save her life after years of self destruction.
After all of that, go ask yourself who you want to believe.
That is the true Narconon exposed.
