Narconon Southern California Opens New Location

The first residential Narconon center opened in southern California back in the early 70's after William Benitez and others had gotten themselves off drugs in an attempt to help others do the same. That original program has changed locations but still remains in operation today, and due to the success over the last few decades, has continued to grow. There are now three Narconon centers in southern California, and that group also operates the Nevada facility. The newest location is a mens-only program near Palm Springs.

Narconon Arrowhead Opens Field Office

Staunch advocates of effective drug-free rehabilitation programs recently opened a local office in Austin, TX to help educate people about the successes of the Narconon Arrowhead rehabilitation and education program. (Click on title for full article)

Celebs Host Fundraiser for Narconon

Narconon has been delivering drug education and prevention presentations in Hawaii for a couple of years, and dedicated staff and supporters are working dilgently to get a residential rehabilitation center open there as well. In an effort to help, Hawaiian-born actress Kelly Preston and her husband actor John Travolta are hosting a fundraising dinner in Hawaii. Preston had previously helped secure funding as well as assisted in the production and distribution of 10,000 free educational kits with DVDs.

Narconon Detox Receives License

After years of misundersanding and false information, the State of Georgia finally issued a license for the Narconon New Life Detoxification program. Previously, ther rest of the Narconon Program was certified, but now the life-changing detox procedure has been recognized as well!

Narconon Training and Conference Center

Narconon Arrowhead in Oklahoma, which is one of the largest private rehabilitation and education facilities in the world, is now working to open an international training and conference center. Located in nearby McAlester Oklahoma, a hotel and conference center was purchased and is currently under renovations to open later this year.

According to a Narconon e-mail, "The main focus is educating individuals from the United States and across the world in the proven and effective drug treatment and drug education methods used by Narconon centers across the world for the last 40 years. There are also courses available for graduates that will help them have success in life. Courses are available for families and graduates to help them understand addiction, how to deal with it, how to help others with addiction problems and how to deliver drug education in the community."

Narconon Georgia Celebrates 6-Year Anniversary

Narconon of Georgia first started out with a pilot program in 2001 where they helped nonviolent drug offenders return to normal, productive lives instead of being sentenced to jail. Those early successful beginnings blossomed into growth over the last several years and on April 13th they will have celebrated their sixth year in operation.

Narconon Hawaii Receives Grant

Narconon Hawaii has received a $25,000 grant from the Stanford Carr Development Fund of the Homebuilding Community Foundation Awareds to help fund drug education programs for children.

Narconon Hawaii has delivered drug-education programs to more than 21,000 kids and distributed more than 9,000 parent-education kits, positively affecting more than 50,000 people in the state in since 2005.

Narconon Anniversary on February 19th.

Narconon officially began on Febrary 19th, 1966 in Arizona State Prison, spearheaded by Narconon founder William Benitez. This past February marked the 41st anniversary of the internatioanl Narconon Network.

What's New with Narconon?

The Narconon network continues to grow, both in the number of drug-free lives helped by the program as well as the number of rehabilitation centers overall. Last year two new centers opened up in the United States. Narconon Stonehawk opened a second facility in Albion, Michigan and Narconon River Bend Retreat opened oustide of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
